You walk past a bulletin board inside of the school to see the following in large letters.

TEST SUBJECTS WANTED

Geneticist Dr. Nathaniel Essex is looking for a few students at a time to try a new "power-enhancement serum."

Subjects must have been born with their mutant abilities and be completely voluntary. The serum will be administered in small amounts and monitored carefully. No long term effects have been seen in primary testing phases and students are encouraged to take part in this uniquely rewarding and educational opportunity.
